Psalm 103, “Bless the Lord”

Intro:  The weight of life often pushes our heads down so that we see and care only about what is right in front of us. They tyranny of the urgent makes us prone to forget all that God has done. In this message on Psalm 103 we unpack what it means for us to bless the Lord and "forget not all his benefits."

Text: Psalm 103

1. BECAUSE HE REDEEMS OUR LIVES FROM THE PIT.

A). What is the dilemma and what Has God done?

B). We all start off in a pit, whether blatant sin or self-righteousness.

2. BECAUSE HE IS MERCIFUL AND GRACIOUS.

A). The seeming paradox–if God is Sovereign, why then the trouble for His people?

                  1—Limited Dualism

                  2—God is Sovereign

B). Why does he allow His children to be oppressed?

C). GOSPEL—He does not deal with us according to our sins.

3. BECAUSE OF HIS ETERNAL, EVERLASTING LOVE.

A. This world does will not last. How foolish is then to cling so tightly to it!

B). Live in the world as though you had no dealings with it.
