Ephesians 3:7-11, “The Church: A Display of the Gospel”
Speaker: Brad Evangelista Series: Individual Messages Passage: Ephesians 3:7–11
Intro: On this membership Sunday, we pause from our Colossians series to consider what it looks like to do life together as a church. Using Ephesians 3:7-11 as our springboard, this message examines how God intends to make the local church a living display of the Gospel.
"If you want to build a ship, don't drum up the men to gather wood, divide the work and give orders. Instead, teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea." –Antoine de St. Exupery

THE CHURCH AS A DISPLAY OF THE GOSPEL – THE LIVING OUT OF THE WORDS
God’s plan for world evangelism is primarily the local church. As a local expression of the body of Christ, the church should be a display of the Gospel in the way it does life together according to the Scriptures. Below is just a sample of some of exhortations in the New Testament on how we should live together as a church family in light of the Gospel.
- Ephesians 4:1-16
- Galatians 6:1-10
- Titus 2:1-15
- 1 Timothy 5:1-2
- 1 Peter 5:1-11
- Romans 12:3-21
- 1 Thessalonians 5:12-28
- Revelation 21:1-4
The Church…
a group of pardoned rebels…
whom God wants to use to display his glory…
before all Creation…
because they tell the truth about him…
and look increasingly like him…holy, loving, united.
