Dear CrossPointe,

This past week Brad finished our Hebrew series, and I must say I am so thankful for his preparation and delivery of those sermons! Among many great lessons, it was an important reminder to not give up the glorious freedom we have in Christ for the bondage of the works of the Law. And allow me to say, if there was something particularly helpful to you, do me a favor and let him know! That would be such an encouragement to him and an easy way for us to honor his work on our behalf!

This Sunday we’re going to be looking at Galatians 5:16–24. This passage echoes many of the truths we’ve heard from Hebrews, but it zooms in specifically on how we are to live in light of the fact that we are, as Martin Luther put it, “partly righteous and partly sinner.” And I’m excited to unpack this passage because Paul’s explicit purpose is to help us know how we are to live in light of this internal tension we face each day.
