1 John 31

Dear CrossPointe,

I am so grateful to the Lord for what he has been teaching us as a church body as we walk through the Gospel of John. I am also very thankful for the sermon that Brad preached last week from Hebrews 10:19–25. This was such a helpful and necessary reminder of our responsibilities toward each other as believers, especially in the context of the local church. It is always necessary for us to remind each other who we are in Christ.

This week we continue in our break from the book of John. I have the privilege of leading us from God’s Word as I preach from 1 John 3:1. This particular verse is a great reminder of the great privilege that we have as Christians to be “children of God.” I encourage you to read this verse several times before Sunday. Pray that the Lord would open our hearts and minds and that he would use our time together to draw unbelievers while encouraging the saints.

On Sunday, look for opportunities to encourage, bless, pray, and serve one another. It is a high honor and privilege to serve as one of your elders, and I am looking forward to seeing you!

Love you, Church,

Reuben Moyana
