Dear CrossPointe,
Praise the Lord! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Isolating may be a bit of drag, but it’s come to us from the good hand of our Heavenly Father who works all things together for our good! In that we can rejoice—in fact, we are commanded to!
As I mentioned last Sunday, we are pausing our series in James until we can physically gather together again. For the time being, my plan is preach through selected texts that encourage us to anchor ourselves to God and his gospel in these anxious times. This Sunday, we will be in 2 Corinthians 12:7–10 where Paul talks about the thorn in his flesh, the sufficiency of God’s grace, and his strength in our weakness.
My goal in these live-streamed messages during this time of isolation is two-fold. First, I want to encourage you and remind us all how the truths of the gospel help us endure and persevere in these uncertain days. Second, I want to explain the gospel clearly to unbelievers who tune in to our live-stream, that the Lord might use it bring life to dead hearts.
Of course, I aim to do those two things every Sunday! But, the passages that we will focus on during this hopefully short “Anchored” series will give us an opportunity to zoom in on those objectives.
I love you, CrossPointe!
Hope to “see” you online this Sunday at 10:30am!
Grace and peace,
Brad
