Dear CrossPointe,
The point of Hebrews is that Jesus is better. He’s better than angels, Moses, the Law, the priesthood, the sacrifices, and whatever else we may be tempted to lean on instead of Him.
The opening verses establish the supremacy of the Son in a grand theological sense, and now in Hebrews 1:5–14, the author puts forward his first example—Jesus is superior to angels.
In addition to our text, we’ll also dig into 2 Samuel 7, Psalm 2, and Psalm 110 a bit, so I encourage you to read those chapters as well.
Looking forward to Sunday!
