Dear CrossPointe,
The truths we’ve been dwelling on in Romans 8 are breathtaking. We’ve been freed from the law of sin and death. God’s Spirit now resides in us if we are believers. We’ve been adopted by God who is not only our Savior but also our Father. And, stunningly, we’re called joint heirs with Christ.
The question may be then, how is it that we still suffer and struggle in this life? Answering that question is what Paul is getting at in our text this week, Romans 8:18–25. Yes, we share in the glory of Christ, but that does not mean we will not suffer in this life. In fact, suffering actually serves the purposes of God in his people.
Our goal is to unpack and apply that truth this Sunday. Let’s come ready to sing loud, pray together, lean forward, encourage one another, and hear God’s Word together as we gather this Sunday.
I love you, CrossPointe!
Brad
