Anxiety, Fear, and Goodness of God
Dear CrossPointe,
I’ve been very encouraged by our summer series on Following Jesus. We’ll conclude this Sunday by looking at Matthew 6:25–34, a well-worn and loved passage from the Sermon on the Mount. In it, Jesus exhorts us not to be anxious but instead, to trust in and seek the Lord.
Anxiety and fear have been around much longer than any of us, but these foes seem particularly large in our day. To help us, Jesus gives a strategy: to fight them with the goodness of God. I’m pretty sure that to one degree or another, we’re all in the middle of this fight. I trust the Holy Spirit will help us as we gather this Sunday.
See you soon,
Brad
